Dig Dirt's Infobroker Mailing List FAQ
Notice
Please read this FAQ in its entirety. By joining this list, you
agree to all of the rules and legal notices in the FAQ.
What is the Infobroker Mailing List?
It is the Internet's FIRST and FREE mailing list strictly for
Information Brokers and information professionals working with and
developing investigative-oriented data and public records and information.
It is important to note that while private investigators and other
similar professionals (attorneys, paralegals et al) are not restricted from
joining this list, all posted notes written to the collective membership
must be relative in dealing with issues important and geared toward the
information broker industry.
Who is the Owner?
The owner of Info-Broker is Dig Dirt Inc., an international
information company specializing in investigative information. Please
remember that Dig Dirt and its owner, Michael Moore, CFE, are primarily
saddled with operating a business. Therefore, response time may vary when
it comes to this list and its matters. Dig Dirt Inc. can be reached at:

Moderated v. Unmoderated
This list is not moderated in the sense that we do not edit content
whatsoever or withhold certain posts because we may not like or agree with
them, etc. The First Amendment is what makes this country a very special
and a fortunate nation. The decision on whether or not to edit other
peoplešs posts then, was rather simple based on this foundation. For
instance, any piece of information in a post can benefit any other list
subscriber. Therefore, it makes little sense to withhold or screen any
information on a list that is meant to serve information professionals by
broadening their intellectual base. Information truly is power and we have
no plans on kidney punching Hercules by watering down content.
Membership to the list, however, is screened for everyonešs
protection. Members of the general public, as well as other individuals,
including members of the media, or anyone else without a legitimate
business reason, are barred from joining this list. Comprehensive controls
have been implemented to ensure against such outside, unwanted, and
unwarranted infiltration.
Who helps with the List?
Beyond the contributions of Dig Dirt and its affiliated agents and
sources, the Infobroker list is sponsored by: The Virtual Librarian
and is hosted by WebCircle Design
Services.
Rules of the list
These are the rules of the list. They are simple and
straightforward. I ask that all members of the list adhere to them.
- Everyone on the list is a professional and should act as such.
- No foul language is to be directed at anyone on the list, if
you want to flame them, do it in PRIVATE.
- If you must comment on a post, make sure that it is something the GROUP will benefit from.
- Please avoid sending out one or two line replies to a note, unless the
GROUP will benefit from it.
- FLAMES ARE NOT ALLOWED! If you MUST FLAME, then do it in private.
- Please feel free to talk about your business and how you can help
people, but do not start discussing how you are better then someone else.
This will end up in your removal. In this light, promoting your business or
unique and new services or searches is encouraged. Shameless plugging is
tolerated, for the most part.
- The list is a private mailing list and service. Therefore, each member
must realize that membership is a privilege and not a right.
- Any fake accounts will result in your immediate removal from the list.
If you can not follow these rules, then you will be removed.
